Spread product evenly over icy surface, using a cup, scoop or spreader, at a rate of 1/4 to 1/2 cup per square yard. Do not pile. When melting has occurred and ice separates from the surface, remove slush and water to prevent refreezing. In snow deeper than two inches, all de-icers are impractical.
