Cast-Weld FC is a high-deposition alloy for repairing, joining and rebuilding cast iron. It provides almost twice the welding speed of conventional cast iron (stick) electrodes. It has excellent welding characteristics and almost no spatter. Cast-Weld FC is designed for maintenance welding applications and can be used to weld cast iron to steel, stainless steel and other ferrous alloys. It creates a smaller heat-affected zone than standard cast iron welding electrodes and helps to eliminate stresses that lead to failure. Welds can be made pass-over-pass without chipping slag.
• Weld all grades of weldable cast iron All-position
• High deposition saves time and money
• Easy slag removal
• Wets out even on dirty cast iron
• Machinable deposits
• High-strength
• Tensile strength: 73,000 psi/503 MPa
• Elongation: 12%
• Hardness: 98 Rb
• Machinability: Good
• Color match: Good
• Current: DCEP
• Gas:- 98% Ar/2% O2: Excellent- 95% Ar/5% O2: Excellent- 95% Ar/5% CO2: Good- 92% Ar/8% CO2: Good- 100% Argon: Fair, doesn’t wet out readily- 75% Ar/25% CO2: Higher spatter
